Mother Teresa famously said, “If you’re too busy to pray, you’re too busy.” Gulp. Is this you? Is this me? In this day and age, “life is just so busy” is far too often the standard response from our friends and loved ones when asked, “How are you?”
Obligations with family, work, friendships and holiday preparations seem to keep our calendars and planners full. Expected happenings on our schedule and the unexpected life events keep our days humming with a pace of business. Amidst this societal tone, how can we live a joyful, meaningful life that keeps us healthy, happy AND holy? How can we better calm ourselves to help us to focus on the Reason for the Season, and to be ready to receive our Lord with the abundance of His Mercy on Christmas Day?
Pietra Fitness was developed just for this reason! The classes whether live or digital offer a way to promote physical strength, deepen the Catholic faith and a moment to relax and quiet our minds. Pietra Fitness is an opportunity to care for yourself as Christ proclaimed “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Mark 12: 31
As the stretching and strengthening exercises are practiced, scripture, prayer and reflections on great saints are introduced. The visible sign of Christ on the cross is also present in each class as a reminder of Our Lord’s sacrifice in body and soul as well as reminding us that our own bodies and souls matter, being created in His image and likeness.
Another favorite saint, St. Francis de Sales taught that “Every one of us needs half an hour of prayer a day, except when we are busy – then we need an hour.” Pietra Fitness classes, whether our live 60 minute classes or our newly released Online Studio featuring 15- 40 minute digital programs, are the perfect opportunity to train ourselves in mind, body and spirit. Participants have blessed us with feedback on greater peace, physical fitness and strength in their lives.
As we end 2018 and reflect on the approaching New Year, let’s make it a priority to care for our mind, body and soul. Pietra Fitness is the perfect opportunity to train us in offering all our thoughts and actions to our good and loving God and create a “Cathedral of You” in 2019.

She has found Pietra Fitness to be a great addition to frequent long walks and tennis matches and greatly enjoys spreading the gift of Pietra Fitness far and wide through digital marketing. Our Lady of Fatima and St. Joseph are her great prayer intercessors!
