The Daily Dose
The Pietra Fitness KIDS Daily Dose series are short, approximately 10-minute classes incorporating intentions, Scripture and prayers on a particular theme, deep breathing, gratitude, and stretching and strengthening exercises. Great for use in the classroom or at home as the children start their day, need to calm their nervous system and improve their concentration, or as a way for them to bring their minds and hearts back to God. Featuring the beautiful music of Gregorian Chant for Kids!
(Includes Forward Fold) In this 10-minute class, kids will stand as they move their spine in all ways as well as a little extra strengthening and stretching exercises for their calves. Before returning to their seat, they will pause for the bodily prayer posture as they hear the words, “Be still and know that I am God!”. The meditation is on confidence in God and encourages children to consider that the Lord is always with them.

This 10-minute class is done entirely in a chair while still moving the spine in all directions, releasing tension in the neck and shoulders, and working the calves. The kids will pause to pray the bodily prayer verse, “I praise You because I am wonderfully made,” before hearing the meditation on how God is all-knowing and knows each one of us better than we know ourselves.

Exercises that focus on the arms, shoulders, and legs are done while sitting in a chair. Maria’s calming voice while reading the meditation will have the children contemplating Our Lord as the Good Shepherd who leads and protects His sheep. They are encouraged to ask God in their hearts for what they truly need.

After deep breathing and gratefulness, Nila will lead the class through neck stretches, shoulder stretches, backbend, forward fold, spinal twist, marching, and ankle rolls, all while seated in a chair. The children will bring their minds and hearts back to Christ with the bodily prayer verse, “You are my defender and protector.” The meditation focuses on the Lord as our refuge and fortress.

God has a special plan for each of us, and that is the focal point of the Scripture and prayers in this class. Seated in a chair, the exercises work on spinal mobility as well as the hamstrings, ankles, feet, and hips. It is amazing all you can do in a chair!
